Towards Equity:

The Struggles and Successes of BIPOC- and Immigrant-Owned Small Businesses

We are excited to share that Equitable Development Action (EDACT) has successfully completed a research project funded by the CURA grant last year. The project, titled “Towards Equity – The Struggles and Successes of BIPOC- and Immigrant-Owned Small Businesses,” is a critical starting point for analyzing systemic barriers and innovative solutions facing marginalized business owners. The research specifically focuses on the impact in the northwest suburbs of the Twin Cities. This comprehensive research was conducted in partnership with the University of Minnesota Twin Cities’ Center for Urban and Regional Affairs (CURA) and was led by Griffin McEnery, MPP, in Spring 2024. To dive deeper into the findings, click the link below to read the summary of our research. For those interested in accessing the full research, please reach out to us directly.
